"Rupture in Heaven. Clemens August and his Era" - among a number of great exhibitions and impressive happenings, an almost forgotten era becomes alive again: The baroque and rokoko era, from powder to toupés, courtal pomp and social upheaval. From Mai through October, at several Rhenish locations, e.g. Bonn or Augustusburg Palace in Brühl, original places are put into scene for thrilling and eventful happenings.

Another 18th century contemporary sets the tone in Bonn for a number years already: Ludwig van Beethoven. Even in the year 2000, Bonn stands in the centre of the famous celebrity, who already as a child played at the court of the elector. The International Beethoven Festival, which takes place annually to the honor of the genius composer, takes place in Bonn and its environs from 23rd September through 16th October 2000.
