EKHOF – Festival 2003
All about Baroque brass-music

The Ekhof-Theater at Schloss Friedenstein invites you to its annual cultural summer highlight.
Only here you can experience a theater which used to be part of the culture at court 300 years ago. Creaking floor-boards, an open change of scenery with a machinery, unique in Europe. Costumes and light from the Baroque period. All that can be seen at Schloss Friedenstein in Gotha.

You get to hear music from famous composers like Händel, Teleman, and Bach as well as music from less famous composers like Molter, Hertel,Zelenka, and Agrell.

The first two weekends are about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. “La finta semplice” was the first full-length opera of 12 year old Mozart. Human feelings interpreted by a child that goes through puberty. A subtle young lady plays with the feelings of two elder aunts to get their niece married. She uses every cliche and bluntly takes advantage of it. (Terms: July 4,5,11,12,18 and 19 at 8.00 pm)
There are concerts every sunday afternoon. On July 6, 2003 you can listen to the Ensemble ....
