The Aisch Valley Beer Trail - (Aischgründer Bierstraße)
Unique in Germany

Lying between Bamberg and Rothenburg, the Aisch Valley in the Steiger Forest can look back on a long tradition of beer and the art of brewing. Here the Aisch Valley Beer Trail runs for about 50 km between Bad Windsheim and Uehlfeld. Along the route 7 breweries and numerous typically Franconian inns invite passers-by to come in and sit awhile.

Beer has been brewed according to the strict precepts of the old German Edict of Purity in the Aisch Valley since 1639. That’s why it’s inextricably entwined with the culture and the history of this enchanting region of Franconia. Taste the beer from the small eight Franconian family breweries; each house’s product has its own special characteristics and individual taste.

In the Franconian Open Air Museum (Fränkisches Freilandmuseum) you can visit a whole section of 3 buildings dealing with beer, and encounter the ancient tradition of the art of brewing - an experience for young and old. But a beer trail must also live in the present. The Beer Bike Route and the Beer Walking Route invite you to experience this, to find out about this region and its wooded landscape, to stop by at the breweries and taste their delicious products in one of the inns along the Aisch Valley Beer Trail. .........
