Viechtach : The cover of the new holiday brochure  Viechtach shows the fairy from a saga about the marvelous natural monument “Der große Pfahl”. Following the motto “In the middle of Naturpark Bayerischer Wald”  we advertise a beautiful landscape which is still unknown to most of us.  

The texts of this brochure are available in five languages – German, English. French, Italian and Czechoslovakian. This is unique in Bavaria. Soon this website – www.viechtach-tourism.com can be read back even in Spanish. Ludwig Reiner, tourism manager of the Viechtach region made these promising decisions, considering an increasing marketing abroad.

The offer of the communities Viechtach, Kollnburg and Prackenbach is impressing. Supply and demand are in agreement.  Geography and infra-structure allow recreational-activities like: hiking, outdoor, survival as recreational pedagogic; horse-riding, lessons for beginners and advanced; free climbing; wild-water canoeing on a route called “The Bavarian Canada”; mountain bike trips (different degrees); guided quad -bike trips; paragliding and ballooning. Wellness, arts and History don’t go short. See well known artists like Günther Götte, Reinhard Schmid and Rudolf Schmid at work. Ancient castles - like Neunußberg and Kollnburg – are overlooking the beautiful, hilly Viechtach region and give you a lively impression of the past.

According to Ludwig Reiner, Viechtach is the ideal starting point to get to know the Bayerische Wald and the Böhmerwald. There are hotels, boarding-houses, farms and camp grounds in every price range – for everybody.
